What can I offer the LORD?

for all he has done for me?

I will lift up the cup of salvation

and praise the LORD’s name for saving me.

I will keep my promises to the LORD

in the presence of all his people.

(Psalm 116:12–14).

Andrae Crouch in the song My Tribute wrote “How can I say thanks for the things you have done for me, things so undeserved yet You gave to prove your love for me.” The question we must face this morning is how we can truly express our thankfulness to God? Do you ever stop and think about how blessed you are if you are a child of God? Forgiveness, peace, purpose, direction, God’s Spirit, life beyond the grave, a constant companion and friend, a healing of the body and soul, the power of His Word, the fellowship of other believers, and thousands of little things, EVERY day.

The psalmist is thankful for God’s blessings, blessings that he knows he doesn’t deserve. And he wants to express gratitude. So, he asks this question in vs. 12, “How can I repay the Lord for all His goodness to me?” How do we respond to such kindness and love? The Psalmist gives us two responses: First, we worship. We give God the praise and honor that is due Him. Worship is not a chore that we do every week, it is an attitude of the heart every day! Corporate worship is the gathering of worshippers for a grand celebration. I hope you will be part of that celebration today. Second, we keep our promises to Him. We show gratitude when we do EVERYTHING He commands rather than merely the things with which we agree. Every time we come to worship it is a time of thanksgiving. It is a time for all of us to express unto God how grateful we are to Him for all that He has done for us.

 As Christians, we’re well aware of how important the attitude of thanksgiving should be in our lives. In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, Paul says, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”. Take a moment today to count your blessings. Don’t hurry. Savor. Give thanks. Then express your gratitude to the Lord in ways that will please Him. May God bless you and keep you always.

Be a witness for Christ

“But you will received power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witness in Jerusalem, in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” Acts 1:8

A legend recounts the return of Jesus to heaven after his time on earth. Jesus bore the marks of his earthly pilgrimage with its cruel cross and shameful death. The angel Gabriel approached him, so the legend goes, and said, "Master, you must have suffered terribly for men down there."  "I did," Jesus replied. "And," continued Gabriel, "Do they know all about how you loved them and what you did for them?" "Oh, no," said Jesus, "not yet. Right now only a few people in Galilee know." "Gabriel was perplexed. “Then what have you done," he asked, "to let everyone know about your love for them?"

Jesus said, "I've asked Peter, James, John, and a few of my friends to tell other people about me. Those who are told well in turn tell other people about me and my story will be spread to the farthest reaches of the globe. Ultimately, all of mankind will have heard about my life and what I have done." Gabriel frowned and looked rather skeptical. He knew full well what poor stuff humans were made of. "Yes," he said, "but what if Peter and James and John grow weary? What if the people who come after them forget? What if way down in the twenty-first century, people just don't tell others about you? What then? Haven't you made any other plans? And Jesus answered, "I haven't made any other plans. I'm counting on them”. [1]Twenty centuries later, he still has no other plan. He is counting on us.

You and I are believers today because a few disciples took Jesus at his word. They told people who in turn told other people who in turn told other people. And the word spread from generation to generation, from culture to culture, and from century to century. And now we are responsible for telling others about the love of Jesus so the chain will not be broken. It's the only plan that Jesus has..  Witnessing  is not just somenthing we do; it is something we are. We do not go to witness, we witnes as we go. With every breath we take, we every word we utter, with every action we make, we are witnessing. As followers of Jesus, we represent Him, we witness on His behalf.  Would you be a witness for Christ today? May God bless you and keep you always.

"Pero recibiereis poder del Espíritu Santo, que vendrá sobre vosotros, y seréis mis testigos en Jerusalén, en toda Judea, en Samaria, y hasta lo último de la tierra" Hechos 1:8

 Una leyenda narra el regreso de Jesús al cielo después de su tiempo en la tierra. Jesús cargó con las marcas de su peregrinación en la tierra con su cruz cruel y vergonzosa muerte. El ángel Gabriel se le acercó, eso dice la leyenda, y le dijo: "Maestro, usted debe haber sufrido terriblemente por cada hombre hombres allí abajo." "Lo hice", respondió Jesús. "Y", continuó Gabriel, "¿Saben todo acerca de cómo Tu los amad y lo que hicistes por ellos?" "Oh, no", dijo Jesús, "todavía no. Ahora mismo sólo unas pocas personas en Galilea saben." Jesús dijo: "Le he pedido a Pedro, Santiago, Juan y algunos de mis amigos que le hablen a la gente acerca de mí. Aquellos a quienes se le cominique el mensaje, a su vez, se lo comunicaran a otros y mi historia se expandera hasta los confines de el mundo. En última instancia, toda la humanidad habrá oído hablar de mi vida y lo que he hecho ". Gabriel frunció el ceño y miró más bien escéptico. Sabía muy bien lo que los seres humanos eran criaturas pecadoras. "Sí," dijo, "pero que sucederia si Pedro, Santiago y Juan se cansan? ¿Qué sucederia si la gente que viene después de ellos olvidan? ¿Y que sucederia si bien en el siglo 21, la gente simplemente no habla mas de ti? ¿Entonces qué? ¿No has hecho otros planes? Jesús respondió: "Yo no he hecho otros planes. Cuento con ellos”. Veinte siglos más tarde, aún no tiene otro plan. Él cuenta con nosotros.

Tú y yo somos creyentes hoy porque algunos discípulos tomaron a Jesús en su palabra. Le dijeron a la gente que a su vez le dijeron a otras personas que a su vez contaron otras personas. Y la palabra se extendió de generación en generación, de una cultura a otra, y de siglo en siglo. Y ahora tenemos la responsabilidad de decirle a otros acerca del amor de Jesús por lo que no se romperá la cadena. Es el único plan que Jesús tiene. Ser testigo no es sólo algo que hacemos; es algo que somos. Nosotros no vamos a dar testimonio, nosotros damos testimonio a medida que avanzamos. Con cada aliento que tomamos, que cada palabra que pronunciamos, con cada acción que hacemos, estamos siendo testigos. Como seguidores de Jesús, nosotros somos representantes de El, somos testigos en su favor. ¿Quieres ser un testigo de Cristo hoy? Que Dios te bendiga y te guarde siempre.

Ansiedad en nuestras vidas

Mateo 6:25-33

¿Cuántos de ustedes viven sus vidas sin ningún tipo de preocupación o ansiedad? ¿Qué cosas hay en sus vidas que te mantienen preocupado o ansioso? Lo cierto es que todos nosotros vivimos con cierto nivel de ansiedad o estrés. Lo triste es que muchas personas en el día de hoy viven con un nivel de ansiedad y estrés que consumen sus vidas. El estrés y la ansiedad pueden causarte problemas de salud, no solo físicos, sino también espirituales. Ansiedad es la enfermedad mental mas común en los Estados Unidos. Investigadores en esta materia han descubierto que el ser humano se preocupa la mayoría de las veces por cosas de las cuales no tiene ningún control.

Este pasaje en Mateo nos presenta unos principios de cómo nosotros debemos tratar con la ansiedad.  La ansiedad es algo natural pero no nos debe controlar. Jesús nos reta a confiar en el en esos tiempos de necesidad. Recuerda que nuestro Padre Celestial conoce tu necesidad y el proveerá por esa necesidad.

Como hijos de Dios, no debemos tener ninguna razón para preocuparnos porque tenemos un Padre Celestial que nos valora. Dios toma tan buen cuidado de su creación, por eso nosotros debemos tener la seguridad de que el va a cuidar de nosotros. Debemos recordar que hay cosas en este mundo por las cuales no tenemos ningún control. Nosotros pasamos la mayor parte de nuestras vidas quejándonos y tratando de cambiar las cosas por las cuales no tenemos ningún control. Como hijos de Dios, debemos descansar en su amor en vez de nuestras inseguridades. Debemos confiar en Su Providencia y Sus Promesas aun cuando las circunstancias sean dolorosas y parezca que Dios no esta trabajando. El apóstol Pablo nos recuerda; “No se inquieten por nada, mas bien, en toda ocasión y ruego, presenten sus peticiones a Dios y denle gracias. Y la paz de Dios que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guardara vuestros corazones y vuestros pensamientos en Cristo Jesús” (Filipenses 4:6-7). Que Dios les bendiga y les guarde siempre.

Anxiety in our lives

Matthew 6:25-33

How many of you live your lives without any kind of worry or anxiety? What things do you have in your life that keeps you worried or anxious? The truth is that we all live our lives with some level of anxiety or stress. The sad thing is that many people today live with a level of anxiety and stress that consume their lives. Stress and anxiety can cause health problems, not only physical, but also spiritual. Anxiety is the most common mental illness in the United States. Researchers in this area have found that humans most often worry about things of which you have no control.

This passage in Matthew shows some principles of how we should deal with anxiety. Anxiety is natural but should not control us. Jesus challenges us to rely on Him in these times of need. Remember that our Heavenly Father knows your need and provide for that need.

As children of God, we have no reason to worry because we have a Heavenly Father who care for ​​us. God takes such good care of his creation, so we must be sure that he will take care of us. We must remember that there are things in this world for which we have no control. We spent most of our lives complaining and trying to change things for which we have no control. As children of God, we rest in His love rather than our insecurities. We must trust in His Providence and His promises even when circumstances are painful and it appears that God is not working. The apostle Paul reminds us; "Do not be anxious about anything, but rather, at all times and petition, present your requests to God and give him thanks. And the peace of God which passed all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus "(Philippians 4:6-7). May God bless and keep you always.

Que tan valioso es Jesus para ti? How valuable is Jesus to you?

¿Qué tan valioso es Jesús para ti?
Mateo 13:44-46 Permítanme comenzar haciendo una pregunta; ¿Qué considera usted lo más valioso en su vida? Me imagino que la mayoría de la gente dirá cosas como; los niños, la familia y la relación con Dios, la seguridad financiera, la buena salud, trabajo, carrera profesional, etc. Es fácil decir que estas cosas son las cosas más importantes en su vida. Pero ¿qué evidencia das de que estas cosas son realmente las cosas más importantes en su vida?
Por ejemplo, si alguien dice que su familia es lo más importante en su vida. ¿Qué sucede si esa misma persona nunca está en su hogar? ¿Si ellos están gastando todo su dinero en apuestas o en los bares bebiendo sin que sus familias tengan nada que comer? ¿Si ellos están descuidando o abusando físicamente de sus hijos o cónyuges? ¿Cree usted entonces cuando estas personas dicen que su familia es lo más importante en su vida? Por supuesto que no lo creen nada
En este pasaje del Evangelio de Mateo, yo creo que Jesús nos está preguntando a través de estas dos parábolas lo siguiente: "¿Qué es más importante para ti? Jesús nos habla de dos hombres que se tropiezan con tesoros. El primer hombre está trabajando en el campo. Mientras trabajaba en el mismo, él encuentra un tesoro escondido y de inmediato vuelve a enterrar el tesoro y vende todo lo que tiene que comprar el terreno. La siguiente historia es acerca de un comerciante que andaba buscando perlas. En su búsqueda, encontró una perla perfecta. Conociendo el valor de la perla, el hombre vendió todo lo que tenía para poder comprar la perla.
La gente va a grandes extremos para obtener lo que más valoran. Piense por un momento la cantidad de dinero y energía que invertimos en cosas materiales que realmente queremos en este mundo. Pero, ¿qué tal tu relación con Dios? ¿Cuánto tiempo y energía que inviertes en el desarrollo de una estrecha relación con tu Padre Celestial? Si valoramos a Cristo, lo buscaremos diligentemente. Si valoramos nuestra relación con Dios, vamos a buscarle con toda nuestra energía. Jesús dice: “Amaras al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma y con toda tu mente” (Mateo 22:37). Si realmente decimos que somos creyentes en Cristo, entonces vamos a mostrar ese hecho por la forma en que vivimos aquí en la tierra. ¿Qué tan valioso es Jesús para ti? Es hora de hacer un verdadero compromiso con Cristo Decide ahora mismo y deja de jugar y dale a Dios todo lo que tienes. Que Dios te bendiga y te proteja siempre.

 

How valuable is Jesus to you?

Matthew 13:44-46

Let me begin by asking you a question; what do you consider to be of great value in your life? I imagine, most people would list tings such as children, family, and relationship with God, financial security, good heath, job, professional career, etc. But it is easy to say that these things are the most important things in your life. What evidence would you give that these things are really the most important things in your life?

For example, if someone says that their family is the most important thing in their life. But what if that same person is never home? What if they are spending all their money gambling or in bars drinking sot that their families has nothing to eat? What if they are neglecting or physical abusing of their children or spouses? Would you believe then when they said their family was the most important thing in their life to them? Of course you wouldn’t believe them.

In this passage in the Gospel of Matthew, I think Jesus is asking us through these two parables, “What is most important to you? Jesus tells us about two men who stumble upon treasures. The first man is working in the field. While working he finds a buried treasure and immediately re-buries the treasure and sells everything has to purchase the land. The next story is about a merchant who was looking for pearls. In his search, he found a flawless pearl. Knowing the value of the pearl, the man sold everything he had so he could buy the pearl.

People go to great lengths to obtain what they value the most. Think for a moment the amount of money and energy we invest on things we really want in this world. But, how about your relationship with God? How much time and energy we invest developing a close relationship with our Father in Heaven? If we value Christ, we will pursue Him diligently. If we value our relationship with God, we will pursue it with all our energy. Jesus said: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37). If we really say that we are believers in Christ, then we will show that fact by the way we live here on earth. How valuable is Jesus to you? Is it time to make a real commitment to Christ? Decide right now that you are done playing games and give God everything you have. May God bless you and keep you always.

Can I Share Something with You? Puedo compartir algo contigo?

“I am the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through me”. John 14:6

We live in a day and age where the watchword is tolerance. Everywhere we turn we are told we need to be more tolerant. We are urged to use inclusive language; we need to watch for offensive stereotypes, we must confront our harmful prejudices. We are also cautioned about religious intolerance. We are to respect people of other faiths in fact we are to affirm that everyone has a right to believe what they want. We have no problem with this it is a guaranteed right in the constitution. However, we are also being urged to proclaim that every religion is equally valid for those who believe it. If it "works for you" then I should say that it is true for you. This is where Christians step into the midst of controversy. Christians cannot state they view every religion as equally valid and true. This is what brings the critics clamoring to our door with cries of narrow-mindedness and intolerance; how dare we say that the only true way to God is the way of Christianity. But dare we must not because we want to swim against the tide but because that is the truth as it is presented in the Bible.

Jesus declares that He is the Only way to the Father’s house. He is not one among many, He is the one and only way. He said: “no one comes to the Father except through me”. This is a universal negative. It says NOT ONE person will come to the Father’s house apart from Christ. So, the only hope of going to the Father’s house is a narrow but abundantly gracious and sufficient road. Jesus is the Truth that you can build your life on. He gives us a foundation to build on. He tells us what the absolutes, the anchors, the non-negotiable are in life. In a world that is constantly tossed to and fro by everything imaginable, Jesus show us how to stand firm.

Finally, for those who are lost, there IS a way home. For those who are confused there is a way to put the mixed up pieces of life together. For those who feel hopeless there is a way to real hope. For those who are beaten up there is a way to healing and renewal.  For those who have messed up their lives there is a way to forgiveness. Other roads may look attractive. Other roads may seem like short-cuts but only one road leads to where you want to go and that's Jesus. May God bless you and keep you always.

 

Puedo Compartir algo contigo? 

“Yo soy el camino la verdad y la vida, y nadie viene al Padre sino por mi” Juan 14:6

Vivimos en una época donde se nos habla mucho acerca de la tolerancia. Dondequiera que miramos, se nos dice que tenemos que ser tolerantes. Se nos insta a utilizar un lenguaje inclusivo, donde tenemos que velar por estereotipos ofensivos, donde debemos confrontar nuestros prejuicios dañinos. También se nos advierte sobre la intolerancia religiosa. Tenemos que respetar a las personas de otras religiones, de hecho, debemos afirmar que todo el mundo tiene derecho a creer lo que quieran. No tenemos ningún problema con esto, porque es un derecho garantizado por la Constitución de los Estados Unidos. Sin embargo, también se nos está instando a proclamar que toda religión es igualmente válida para aquellos que lo creen. Si “trabaja para ti”, entonces debo decir que es verdad. Y es aquí donde los cristianos pasan a estar en medio de la controversia. Los cristianos no pueden afirmar que todas las religiones son igualmente válidas y verdaderas. Esto es lo que lleva a los críticos a clamar a nuestras puertas a gritos que somos personas de mente estrecha e intolerantes. “Como nos atrevemos a decir que el único camino verdadero a Dios es a través de la cristiandad”. Pero nos atrevemos a eso, no porque queremos nadar en contra de la corriente, sino porque es la verdad presentada en la Biblia.

Jesús declara que Él es el Único a la casa del Padre. Él no es un camino entre muchos caminos, EL es el Único camino. Él dice; nadie viene al Padre sino por mí”. Esta frase es un negativo universal, ninguna persona entrara a la Casa del Padre sin Cristo. Así que la única esperanza de ir a la Casa del Padre es una carretera estrecha, pero abundante en gracia y perdón. Jesús es la Verdad en la cual tú puedes construir tu vida. Él es la fundación sobre la cual tú puedes construir. Él te dice los absolutos, las anclas y las cosas no-negociables de la vida. En un mundo que está constantemente fugaz por todo lo imaginable, Jesús nos muestra cómo mantenernos firmes.

Para aquellos que están perdidos, hay solo un camino para la Casa del Padre. Para aquellos que están confundidos, hay solo un camino para unir todas las piezas de tu vida. Para aquellos que se sienten sin esperanza, hay solo un camino de esperanza. Para aquellos que están heridos y afligidos, hay solo un camino para sanación y renovación. Y para todos nosotros, hay solo un camino para el perdón.  Muchos caminos son atractivos, otros parecen atajos, pero un solo camino te lleva a la verdad y te da vida, y ese camino es Jesús. Que Dios te bendiga y te guarde siempre.

El amor de Madre/Mother's Love

Este próximo domingo celebramos el Día de la Madres. Presiones en las madres hoy en día son más grandes que nunca. Es uno de los trabajos más duros y difíciles en el mundo. Piensa por un momento todo lo que se espera de ellas. Madres son maestras, madres son disciplinarias. Algunas madres son jardineras, otras, cortadoras de césped. Madres son damas de limpieza. La mayoría de las madres entienden que hornear galletas es más importante que el lavado de ventanas. Madres son enfermeras, médicos, psicólogas, consejeras, choferes y entrenadoras. Madres son las desarrolladoras de personalidad, moldeadoras de vocabulario y formadoras de actitudes. Madres son voces suaves susurrando a nuestros oídos: Te amo. Y las madres son el vínculo a Dios, la primera impresión del amor de Dios de un niño. Madres son todas estas cosas y muchas, muchas más.

Madres es el ejemplo más cercano que tenemos al amor de Dios. Es un amor que va por el valle de la sombra y de la muerte para dar vida a la existencia. El amor de madre es un amor que se sacrifica una y otra vez y que incluso, se atreven a poner su propia vida por la de sus hijos.

Quiero terminar con una historia real. Es una historia que cuenta la vida de Salomón Rosenberg y su familia. Salomón Rosenberg, su esposa y sus 2 hijos, su madre y su padre fueron detenidos y puestos en un campo de concentración nazi. Era un campo de trabajo y las reglas eran simples; “Siempre y cuando usted pueda hacer el trabajo, se le permite vivir”. Cuando usted este demasiado débil para hacer el trabajo, entonces usted será exterminado. Rosenburg observo su madre y padre marchar a la muerte, y el sabía que el próximo seria su hijo menor, David, porque David siempre había sido un niño frágil. Todas las noches Rosenburg regresaba al cuartel donde dormía después de sus horas de trabajo y buscaba las caras de su familia. Cuando las encontraba, se abrazaban unos a otros y daban gracias a Dios por otro día de vida. Un día Rosenburg regreso y no vio ninguna de las caras familiares. Finalmente encontró a su hijo mayor, Josué en una esquina, llorando y orando. Él le pregunta; “Josué dime que no es cierto”. Josué se vira y le dice; “Es cierto, papa. Hoy David no fue lo suficientemente fuerte para hacer su trabajo. Así que ellos vinieron por él”. “Pero donde está tu madre”, pregunto Rosenburg. “Oh papa, cuando ellos vinieron por David, el tenia tanto miedo y estaba llorando”. Mami le dijo; “No hay nada que temer David” y ella lo tomo de la mano y se fue con él.[1] Hay pocas cosas tan fuertes como el amor de una madre por sus hijos,  un amor tan fuerte que uno opta por renunciar a la vida para que su hijo pueda ser consolado. Madres, este es su día. Dios les bendiga y les guarden siempre.

A Mother's Love

This Sunday we celebrate Mother’s Day. Pressures on mothers today are greater than ever. It is has to be the hardest and most difficult job in the world. Think for a moment what is expected of them. Mothers are teachers, mothers are disciplinarians. Some mothers are gardeners, others are mowers of lawns. Mothers are cleaning ladies. Most mothers understand that baking cookies is more important than washing windows. Mothers are nurses, doctors, psychologists, counselors, and coaches. Mothers are the developers of personality, molders of vocabulary and shapers of attitudes. Mothers are soft voices whispering in our ears: I love you. And mothers are the link to God, the first impression of God's love for a child. Mothers are all these things and much, much more.

Mother is the closest example we have the love of God. It is a love that goes through the valley of the shadow of death to bring life into being. Mother love is a love that sacrifices again and again and even dare to put their own life for their children.

I want to end with a true story. It is a story that tells the story of Solomon Rosenberg and his family. Solomon Rosenberg, his wife and two children, his mother and his father were arrested and placed in a Nazi concentration camp. It was a labor camp and the rules were simple; "As long as you can do the work, you are allowed to live. When you become too weak to do your work, then you are exterminated." Rosenberg watched his mother and father marched off to their deaths, and he knew that next would be his youngest son, David, because David had always been a frail child. Every evening Rosenberg came back into the barracks after his hours of labor and searched for the faces of his family. When he found them they would huddle together, embrace one another, and thank God for another day of life. One day Rosenberg came back and didn’t see those familiar faces. He finally discovered his oldest son, Joshua, in a corner, huddled, weeping, & praying. He said, "Josh, tell me it’s not true." Joshua turned and said, "It is true, poppa. Today David was not strong enough to do his work. So they came for him." "But where is your mother?" asked Mr. Rosenberg. "Oh poppa," he said, "When they came for David, he was afraid and he cried. Momma said, `There is nothing to be afraid of, David,’ and she took his hand and went with him." There are few things as strong as the love of a mother for her children - a love so strong that it would choose to give up life so her child can be comforted. Mother, this is your day. God bless and keep you always

Perdonandonos unos a otros/Forgive one another

“Soportándoos unos a otros, y perdonándoos unos a otros si alguno tuviere queja contra otro. De la manera que Cristo os perdonó, así también hacedlo vosotros” Colosenses 3:13.

Cuenta la historia la manera en que Pericles, el gran líder griego que vivió cinco siglos antes de Cristo, trato a un político contrario suyo y muy critico de su actuación. Pericles caminaba cada día desde su casa hasta el Senado donde atendía los asuntos públicos. Un día, un hombre que parecía tener motivos para estar enfadado con Pericles, le espero en el camino y le dirigió toda clase de insultos y amenazas. Cuando termino los asuntos en el Senado, aquel individuo estaba esperando a la puerta e hizo lo mismo en todo el camino hacia la casa de un amigo donde había sido invitado a comer. Así, a lo largo de todo aquel día, le perseguía como si fuera su sombra. Al atardecer, Pericles regreso a su hogar y le volvió a suceder lo mismo con aquel enemigo político que no cesaba de ofenderle y amenazarle. Cuando entraba por la puerta de su casa ya era oscuro. Aquel hombre profirió unas cuantas ofensas mas ante la puerta cerrada y comenzó a retirarse. Al bajar la calle, ya en la obscuridad, vio que alguien se le acercaba con una antorcha. “Quien eres? pregunto. “Soy criado de Pericles. El me ha enviado para que le ilumine el camino hasta su casa”.[1]

Es fácil sentirse amargo y molesto cuando somos heridos por alguien. Pero cuando usted carga con todo ese exceso de equipaje del pasado, usted se hace daño a usted mismo y a sus seres queridos. Como pastor, yo conozco personas que hasta el día de hoy guardan rencor por cosas que sucedieron 20, 30 años atrás. Y conozco algunos que mantienen una lista de personas que les han causado daño y algún día esperan desquitarse.

¿Conoce usted alguna persona así? O, ¿eres tu ese tipo de persona? Si es así, presta atención a estas palabras del apóstol Pablo. Estas palabras son fáciles de entender, pero difícil de poner en practica. Perdonar nunca es fácil, pero es posible con la ayuda de Dios. Nadie a dicho que el perdonar es fácil. Pero cuando Dios ordena algo, sabemos que es posible cuando dependemos de Su fuerza para ayudarnos a lograrlo. Independientemente de la ofensa, el perdón es posible. Quizás tome tiempo y quizás requiera ayuda profesional, pero es posible. Pídele a Dios que te de la sabiduría que necesitas para que puedas comenzar este proceso de restauracion en tu vida. Que el Señor te bendiga y te guarde siempre.

Forgive One Another

 

“Be gentle and ready to forgive; never hold grudges. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others” Colossians 3:13 (TLB).

History tells how Pericles, the great Greek leader who lived five centuries before Christ, treated an opposing political person who was very critical of his performance. Pericles walked each day from his home to the Senate where he attended his public affairs. One day, a man who seemed to have a reason to be angry with Pericles, waited for him on the road and gave him all kinds of insults and threats. When he finished matters in the Senate, that individual was waiting at the door and did the same thing all the way to a friend's house where he had been invited for dinner. Thus, throughout the day, this man haunted him like his shadow. At dusk, Pericles went back to his home and the same thing happened again with that political enemy never ceased to offend and threaten Pericles. When he walked in the door of his house it was dark. The man uttered a few more offenses before the closed door and began to retreat. Down the street, and in the dark, he saw someone approaching him with a torch. " Who are you?, he wonder, "I am a servant of Pericles. He sent me to lighten the way to your home".

It is easy to feel bitter and angry when someone hurts us. But when you load all that excess baggage from the past, you do damage to yourself and your loved ones. As a pastor, I know people who to this day hold grudges for things that happened 20, 30 years ago. And I know some who maintain a list of persons who have caused them harm and hope someday retaliate.

Do you know any person like that? Or, are you that your kind of person? If so, pay attention to these words of the Apostle Paul. These words are easy to understand, but difficult to put into practice. Forgiveness is never easy, but is possible with God's help. No one has said that forgiveness is easy. But when God commands something, we know that is possible when we rely on His strength to help us achieve this. Regardless of the offense, forgiveness is possible. It may take time and may require professional help, but it is possible. Ask God to give you the wisdom you need to help you begin this healing process in your life. May the Lord bless you and keep you always.
